PAPA BEAR SMOOTH

A voice crafted with classic elegance. Delivering the rich romance of Motown, deep R&B harmonies, and smooth velvet jazz classics straight from the heart.

Born and raised in 1960’s New Haven, Connecticut, Fred’s life has always had a soundtrack. He began singing alongside his grandfather and in church choirs, where he discovered the joy of harmonies and heartfelt performance. By his teens, he was steeped in the sounds of Motown, R&B, and soul—genres that shaped his voice and spirit.

In the 1980s, Fred took his talent to the professional stage, recording with a label and performing in nightclubs across New York, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. His deep, smooth, smoky tenor-baritone carried the romance of classic soul ballads and the groove of Motown, earning him a loyal following.

While music has been a lifelong passion, Fred’s path has also taken him through the worlds of modeling, bodybuilding, martial arts, and personal training—experiences that shaped his trademark style and powerful stage presence. Even with these pursuits, the pull of music never faded.

Now retired and living in Panama, Fred has joyfully returned to his first love: singing. True to his roots, he still embraces Motown, R&B, and soul, but has also found a new muse in jazz. His performance is a testament to the soul of someone who has lived the music and is ready to share his story with new audiences.
